A study of the operative methods for peritonitis due to Real perforation cused by salmonellosis

Abstract
A study of the operative methods was performed on the 274 cases of peritonitis due to ileal perforation caused by Salmonellosis, which were experienced at the Department of. Surgery, of Busan National University Hospital during the past 17 years and 11 months period from Nov. 1956 to Sept. 1974.
Author, having reviewed and analyzed complications, and prognosis of operations with the various operative methods applied to these cases made the result that, ileocolostomy or ileoceco-stomy that resects the lesion .site and anastomoses the both healthy parts, were very good and almost never accompanied by complications including deaths. But these procedures were not functional and anatomical reconstruction.
Since 1974, for the purpose of considering functional and anatomical aspects ileocecal anastomosis with ileocecal sphincter preservation has been attempted which was ideal and rational but unfortunately, however there was possibility of anastomotic insufficiency, so that author recommeded that leocolostomy or ileocecostomy is thought to be appropriate when the lesions of ileum involve the cecol wall in the vicinity of ileocecal valve in rare cases.
